ITS A GFOS GRAB BAG

If you follow any of these links that I post (and in most cases, they are worth the trip), you may have gone over to Rock 'n' Soul Ichiban, and you probably know that it comes highly recommended.  One thing you might not know, besides being home to Tassle Twirler Tuesdays, they have been running monthly series of posts featuring different artists.  Last month it was Ray Price, and before that Roger Miller, Joe Tex, and, well, I forget who they had before that.  This month is going to be a good one, because the GFOS is in the house.  On the occasion of another month long sure-to-be-dynamite series, here's a few from the Godfather of Soul, the Hardest Working Man in Show Business, Soul Brother Number One, or whatever else you want to call him.  The first is from their series, and the others were random finds elsewhere.  Behold JB giving Jimmy Smith a run for his money on "Believers Shall Enjoy."  Transverse two decades of funk in two songs, with "Cold Sweat," and "Get On the Good Foot."  For dessert, try the cover, by Black Randy and the Metro Squad.  It is a, no, it is the bomb.
