DEALING WITH THE FUNKY SIDEWALK

I just felt like hearing it again, it all it's goofy glory. "Double Dutch Bus" by Frankie Smith. This one, Kurtis Blow's "The Breaks", and "Rappers' Delight" by the Sugarhill Gang were the big three, pre-"The Message". Early rap, before shit got serious. Everyone was just sort of figuring things out. It's just insane, all of the stuff that sprang from stuff like this. Contrast these two. It could have anyone for that second one, I just thought of Childish Gambino because his production always sounds thick, and he's relatively current.
